A flexible opening, easy access to your luggage and the simple way to remove the mosquito net make it a great addition in any situationThe SpaceCamper Mosquito Net
Mosquitos and other insects are often unwelcome visitors during camping holidays. However, this should not be a reason for you your don’t to go without fresh air. The SpaceCamper mosquito net, which attaches to the back of your VW T6.1, T6 or T5, under the hatch of your boot/trunk, protects you from mosquitos reliably and in an environmentally friendly way.
The mosquito net excels in multiple tasks
Not only does the mosquito net protect from pesky bugs, it also shields the sleeping area and trunk from prying eyes and creates a pleasant indoor climate. In warm temperatures, the SpaceCamper mosquito net can let a cool breeze through. In cool weather, it can protect against wind and, in combination with the tailgate, it provides a closed air space that contributes to insulation. By opening and closing the blackout, the amount of light and airflow can be adjusted to your needs. Last but not least, it is also the ideal splash guard for a rear shower.
How to attach the mosquito net to the VW bus
Via magnets and an elastic band, the net is quickly attached and can even remain permanently attached when the rear hatch is closed. Double-sided zippers ensure that the SpaceCamper mosquito net is easy to open from the inside and from the outside.
Three modes of operation are available for the top window:
- Open window completely
- Mosquito net
- Close window blind
The lower part of the mosquito net hangs down loosely, but can be held in place by two mounting screws on the right and left in windy conditions. Thus the bottom of the boot/trunk and it's contents remain easily accessible when the mosquito net is in use.
Is there anything else I should consider when attaching it?
The mosquito net must lie in the area between the seals of the boot - where it is slightly corrugated. If it is put completely over the seal, the tailgate may not close well or rainwater may get into your vehicle. The correct and incorrect positions can be seen above in the last pictures.
Also, be sure to place the screws for the mounting tabs so that the center hole of the tab can be used without tension. This will prolong the life of the tabs.
Does the mosquito net fit on a California Beach or with swing doors?
You can install the mosquito net on the California Beach like in any T5 or T6. However, when you close the rear hatch it's better to loosen the lower half of the mosquito net. Otherwise, the rear hatch could apply too much pressure on the net resulting in damage to the net.
With double-wing doors it's better to remove the mosquito net before closing the doors. The latch may damage the mosquito net.
